It is very common for people to call themselves coaches, and claim to be very versed and professional. However, not every coach is certified and accredited. When searching for the right coach, make sure your coach is accredited by a coaching federation, like the International Coaching Federation (ICF).
As the ICF states, “ICF Credentialed Coaches are professional coaches who have met stringent education and experience requirements, and have demonstrated a thorough understanding of the coaching competencies that set the standard in the profession.”
